Whole Pet Grooming Academy - extracted from wholepetnh.com

August 2026 6 brand colors 2 typefaces 6 diploma credentials
Methodology Note

Colors were extracted directly from the compiled site.css HSL variables and confirmed against custom.css. Squarespace stores color as HSL component tuples in :root; hex values below are calculated from those components. Note: Squarespace's internal variable naming is inverted for dark-template builds - their --white-hsl is the dark background and --black-hsl is the light text color. All rebuild work uses the confirmed tokens listed here as the foundation.

Accessibility: Approved Text Pairings

WCAG 2.1 requires 4.5:1 contrast for normal body text and 3.0:1 for large text (24px+ or 18.67px+ bold). Contrast ratios calculated per WCAG relative luminance formula.

Action Required

The live wholepetnh.com site currently uses gold (#D4B078) as body text color in several sections on cream backgrounds - this fails WCAG AA at 2.0:1. The rebuild must restrict gold to eyebrow labels, icon accents, and button fills only. All body copy on light backgrounds must use navy (#2F446F) or muted navy (#5A6A8A).

Rules
Do
Use navy #2F446F for all primary CTAs, headings, and dark section fills. It is the dominant brand color and should anchor the hierarchy.
Alternate navy and cream (#FFFDF5) in full-width content bands to create rhythm. These are the two main section grounds.
Use gold (#D4B078) only for eyebrow labels, accent bars, and secondary CTA fills. Its scarcity makes it signal "act now."
Use Merriweather for all headings (H1-H3) and long-form body paragraphs. Use Raleway for all UI elements, nav, buttons, and labels.
Display the NH DOE license statement on every page in both the header and footer. It is WPGA's strongest competitive differentiator.
Use #C8D8E4 (light blue) for all body copy and secondary text placed on navy backgrounds.
Don't
Never use gold (#D4B078) as body text color on cream or white backgrounds. It fails WCAG AA at 2.0:1 and becomes invisible on warm grounds.
Don't apply gold to multiple elements on the same page simultaneously. Overuse dilutes its signal value as a CTA trigger.
Don't use white (#FFFFFF) as a primary background for hero or full-width content sections. Cream (#FFFDF5) is the correct WPGA light ground.
Never mix Inter, Lato, or system fonts with Merriweather and Raleway. All third-party pages must load only these two families.
Don't apply border-radius greater than 6px to buttons. The tight 3px radius is intentional and ties to WPGA's professional, institutional identity.
Don't derive custom tint values outside the approved opacity steps (8%, 15%, 30%, 55%, 100% for navy; 10%, 20%, 40%, 70%, 100% for gold).

--wpga-btn-radius3pxButton border-radius. Intentionally tight; reflects institutional identity
--wpga-section-pad80px 0Standard vertical padding for all full-width content bands
Squarespace Variable Note

Squarespace compiles these values into minified site.css with non-semantic class names. Their own variable names (e.g., --white-hsl, --black-hsl) are inverted in dark-template builds and must not be used as references. Always refer to the semantic tokens above for rebuild and extension work.

08
Logo Set

WPGA uses its existing registered logo. The NH DOE accreditation requires the registered name and mark to remain consistent across all enrollment-related and public-facing materials.

WPGA Primary Logo - on cream

Credential Badges

WPGA issues six formal diploma-level credentials and a suite of program and alumni badges. All badge assets are served from the Squarespace CDN and should be exported and re-hosted for the rebuild. Badges are a primary trust signal and must appear prominently on program and enrollment pages.

ICPE Credential Note

The Master Therapeutic Pet Aesthetician (MTPA) is co-credentialed with the International Canine Professionals and Educators (ICPE). This is a unique competitive advantage - no competing grooming program in NH carries a dual-body credential. The ICPE mark should appear alongside the WPGA badge wherever the MTPA program is marketed.

10
Trust Signals & Accreditation

WPGA holds institutional credentials no competitor school in New Hampshire can match. These signals must be front-and-center on every public page - they are currently buried or absent on the live site.

State License
NH Department of Education
Licensed and approved by the NH Department of Education as a post-secondary career school under RSA 188-G:1-10. Licensed since 2015. This is the highest form of institutional recognition available to a career school in New Hampshire.
Credential Body
ICPE Co-Credential
The International Canine Professionals and Educators (ICPE) co-credentials the MTPA program. No other NH grooming school holds a dual-body credential on any program. Use the ICPE mark wherever MTPA is marketed.
Outcomes
Graduate Performance
300+ global graduates. 58% became business owners after completing WPGA credentials. 65% built long-term, high-earning careers in the pet industry. These statistics should be formatted as featured metrics in the hero and on the enrollment page.
History
Founded 2006 by Dara Forleo
Dara Forleo (BA in Business Administration) founded WPGA in 2006. Expanded online nationally 2015-2020. 18+ years as a NH-based institutional school precedes most competitor online programs by a decade.

11
Current Site: Design-Specific Issues
Brand
Color hierarchy is not conversion-driven
The warm gold accent (#D4B078) is applied too broadly across body text, decorative elements, and buttons simultaneously. This dilutes its signal value as a CTA trigger. A deliberate primary/secondary/accent hierarchy does not exist in the current implementation.
UX
No consistent visual hierarchy guiding visitors to the primary action
CTAs ("Register Here," "Get Certified," "Start Here") appear at similar visual weight across multiple sections. Without a dominant primary CTA in the hero and secondary CTAs in supporting sections, attention dilutes equally. Visitors browse rather than enroll.
Accessibility
Gold on cream fails WCAG 2.1 AA at 2.0:1 contrast
Paragraph text rendered in gold (#D4B078) on cream (#FFFDF5) backgrounds fails WCAG AA by a large margin (2.0:1 vs. 4.5:1 required). This affects multiple sections of the live site. All body copy on light backgrounds must move to navy (#2F446F) or muted navy (#5A6A8A).
Positioning
NH DOE license and ICPE credential not visible at first glance
WPGA holds NH DOE approval (RSA 188-G:1-10) and an ICPE co-credential on the MTPA program - signals no competitor can match. Neither appears in the hero, header, or above-the-fold content on the live site. The DOE and ICPE marks belong in the sticky header and footer on every page.
Routing
Six confirmed 404 routes referenced in navigation
Pages in nav that return HTTP 404: /about, /programs, /boardroom, /the-summit, /blog, /certification-pathways. Dead nav items cannot be indexed by Google and cannot convert traffic. Confirmed working routes: /, /contact-us, /diplomas, /about-us.
